Hunter Greene Tallies Season-High 11 Punchouts
4 months agoCincinnati Reds starting pitcher Hunter Greene tossed six innings of one-hit ball on Saturday afternoon en route to earning his eighth victory of the season. He allowed just one free pass and struck out a season-high 11 batters. The former second-round pick was in complete control this afternoon and never got into any trouble. Entering this start, the right-hander has begun to take a significant step forward in his development, holding a near-perfect 0.57 ERA, 0.73 WHIP, and a 10:35 BB:K ratio across his past five outings. Through 130 innings of work this summer, the hard-throwing right-hander sits with a strong 2.83 ERA, 1.02 WHIP, and a 50:149 BB:K ratio. Under the hood, the 24-year-old boasts a 4.9% barrel rate, 33.0% hard-hit rate, and a 27.1% K rate which are all well above the average marks. Greene remains a top starting pitcher in all leagues and will always be a popular play in DFS formats.
