Homer Bailey Survives First Outing
6 years agoKansas City Royals starting pitcher Homer Bailey got through Day 1 of his KC career with only a few bumps and bruises, and he got the praise of his manager. Manager Ned Yost was complimentary of Bailey's first outing, and he specifically noted that Bailey's "splitter was good." Bailey allowed three earned runs in five innings of work, and he punched out eight of the 15 outs. Bailey's got big-game potential, but he's historically struggled to remain consistent for more than a couple weeks at a time. As it stands, he's certainly not worthy of being trusted in any old outing, but he's someone to keep an eye on, especially in deeper leagues. He's slated to face the Mariners next week, and owners can hopefully get a bit of a better feel for him then.
