Hideki Matsuyama Seeking Redemption In France
5 months agoHideki Matsuyama was carrying the weight of the host nation in the 2021 Olympics in Tokyo, and he came painstakingly close to delivering a medal and an incredibly memorable moment for Japan. Unfortunately, the 32-year-old Japanese star came up just short in a seven-way playoff for the bronze medal with a short missed par put on the first playoff hole. The current OWGR No. 12 heads to Paris looking to rewrite that story, and there's no doubt he could find himself in a position to stand atop the podium on Sunday. The nine-time PGA Tour winner picked up his most recent victory at The Genesis Invitational, and he's followed that with four top-10 finishes in his ten starts since. And while he hasn't played at Le Golf National before, he should be in line for a solid week, as he ranks fourth in driving accuracy, 22nd in weighted approach play, first in weighted around-the-green play, and 17th in Bentgrass putting over the last 24 rounds. Matsuyama could be a key contributor to winning GPP contests on DraftKings this week, and fantasy managers should roll him out with confidence in Paris.
