San Diego Padres starting pitching prospect Henry Baez led the way in a combined no-hitter on Friday evening for High-A Fort Wayne, as he tossed seven clean innings. He allowed just one walk and one run (unearned). He struck out four. Relief pitchers Will Geerdes and Jose Geraldo were called upon to finish the game in the eighth and ninth innings. Since the start of June, Baez has performed exceptionally well with a 1.04 ERA, 0.72 WHIP, and an 8:34 BB:K. Overall through his first extended look at High-A ball, the 21-year-old sits with a 2.88 ERA and 1.07 WHIP through 72 frames. The right-hander is considered the 30th-best prospect in the San Diego system on MLB.com and should see time in Double-A to close out the season.--Andy Smith - RotoBallerRead More News
