Dallas Keuchel Will Be Successful If Healthy
7 years agoHouston Astros left-handed starter Dallas Keuchel will head into the 2018 season in an unfamiliar spot; as number two starter. With the acquisition of ace Justin Verlander, Keuchel finds himself now without all the spotlight but still plenty of talent. Keuchel began last season absolutely on fire, winning nine of his first 11 starts and sporting a 1.67 ERA. Then a neck injury derailed his season and the former Cy Young winner came on and off the disabled list for months during the middle of the season. He recovered in time to finish the season with 14 wins and pitched some big time games en route to an Astros World Series win. Keuchel, when healthy, is easily a top-7 starting pitcher in the American League. But he must prove those neck issues are a thing of the past before fantasy owners should fully trust him. His ceiling is fantastic; 15-20 wins, a sub-3.00 ERA and an excellent WHIP. Keuchel will be one of the first handful of pitchers off the fantasy board but does comes with a certain level of health risk.
