Giovanny Urshela Goes Yard As Playing-Time Decision Looms

The New York Yankees' infield is about to get a little more crowded and none of the current members are willing to give an inch. With Didi Gregorius set to return Friday in Cleveland following Tommy John surgery, third base will become the lone spot without a clear starter. Giovanny Urshela, who has excelled since becoming the main third baseman, faces an uphill battle for playing time as DJ LeMahieu continues his All-Star campaign. Thursday night in Toronto, however, the Colombian continued his own strong season, blasting a solo home run for his lone hit of the night. At this point, LeMahieu simply cannot be benched, making Urshela the odd man out as he will surely see a drop in playing time.
