4 years agoToronto Blue Jays outfielder George Springer (quadriceps) and infielder Joe Panik (calf) took batting practice in the cages on Wednesday. Springer will begin a running progression on Thursday. The 31-year-old outfielder has been a huge disappointment for fantasy managers, as he's played in just four games in his first season in Toronto while dealing with oblique and quadriceps issues. Barring setbacks, Springer is hoping to return to the lineup by the end of May, and the Blue Jays and fantasy managers will be hoping he can hit the ground running by then. Panik, a utility infielder for Toronto, is currently on the 10-day injured list with a calf strain. He's hitting just .226/.241/.302 with no homers and four RBI in 19 games and can be ignored in most fantasy leagues.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
