Gary Sanchez Primed For Another Strong Season
7 years agoEntering his third season with the New York Yankees, All-Star catcher Gary Sanchez suddenly finds himself a third fiddle on the team following the arrival of Giancarlo Stanton and meteoric rise of Aaron Judge. While Sanchez’s monster close to the end of the 2016 season raised expectations to insane levels for 2017, he managed to put forth quite a strong season. The 25-year-old hit .278 with 33 home runs, 90 RBI and 131 hits, leading American League catchers in each category. Considering how potent this Yankees lineup figures to be, Sanchez appears to be in a fantastic position to thrive. There shouldn’t be any worries about his hitting skills and ability to match those numbers he posted last year. A .307 BABIP last year showed his ability to hit with runners on, which looms large for his RBI tally. At this point in his career, he already appears to be the top fantasy option at catcher and should be taken in the top three rounds of drafts.
