With their third-round pick (92nd overall), the Miami Marlins selected third baseman Gage Miller out of the University of Alabama. Miller spent last season with the Crimson Tide after playing the previous two seasons in junior college for Bishop State in Alabama. The 21-year-old proved that even against better talent, he remains a force to be reckoned with at the dish by hitting .381 with 18 homers and 56 RBI. Miller consistently barrels the ball at the dish and is one of the more intelligent hitters in the draft. Miller provides good hitting potential, but his defense is a work in progress, and it will be interesting to see where the Marlins wind up playing him. Regardless, if he can hit like he did for Alabama, the Marlins will find a place for him in the lineup.--Daniel Burdeen - RotoBallerRead More News
