Winnipeg Jets right wing Gabriel Vilardi found the back of the net twice during their victory over the New York Islanders on Friday evening. Vilardi scored both of his goals in the second frame during 5-on-5 play. In this contest, he logged seven shots on goal, with one blocked shot and a +1 rating. This outing also snapped a three-game scoreless drought. Before that minor slump, Vilardi tallied eight points (three goals, five helpers) over his last four contests. The 25-year-old has enjoyed a career season playing alongside Mark Scheifele and Kyle Connor on the top line. Across 56 contests, Vilardi has found the back of the net 24 times and added 27 helpers, which are both career highs. Vilardi will look to stay hot after the international break when the Jets face the St. Louis Blues.--Andy Smith
