Framber Valdez Pitches A Gem Against The Red Sox
4 years agoHouston Astros starter Framber Valdez silenced the Red Sox bats Tuesday in Boston. The fireballing southpaw surrendered just a singular run across 7 1/3 innings while striking out five. Valdez dominated hitters continually allowing only soft contact and not allowing any extra-base. The lefty entered the game with a 1.67 ERA and 1.00 WHIP and left with an even lower 1.47 ERA and 0.87 WHIP. The buying window to acquire Valdez at a discounted price has been closing day after day, and this start may have been the final nail in that coffin. Projecting forward, managers can truly expect these types of performances on a consistent basis.
