Erik Jones qualified 29th for this week's Brickyard 400 at Indianapolis Motor Speedway. This is the lowest starting position of his Cup career at Indianapolis. In four previous races at Indy, Jones had three DNFs due to crashes and a second-place finish. After completing 19 races so far in 2024, Jones has 11 top-20 finishes, including last week's race at Pocono, where he placed 14th. In practice, Jones ranked ninth in overall lap averages and has plenty of Place Differential upside from his starting position.
