Eric Skoglund Roasted By Yankees
7 years agoKansas City Royals starting pitcher Eric Skoglund’s outing against the Yankees was rough from the beginning, but he was able to work around base runners for the first three innings to remain unscathed. That changed the second time through the order as Skoglund surrendered three earned runs in the fourth inning, capped off by a home run by Tyler Austin. The fifth felt like déjà vu as Skoglund once again allowed three earned runs to score, capped off by a home run by Austin. By the end of the fifth, Skoglund had allowed six earned runs on eight hits and two walks, while the KC offense had just one hit. Skoglund has the ability to string together a couple decent outings in a row, but he’s way too volatile for anyone outside of deep leagues to own him.
