Minnesota Twins outfield prospect Emmanuel Rodriguez (hip) began a rehab assignment with the team's Florida Complex League affiliate on Saturday. The left-handed slugger went 1-for-3 with a walk, an RBI single, and a run scored in the contest, which was his first game action since May 30. The Twins' second-ranked prospect had been on the injured list with a hip injury, which is one of a multitude of injuries that have afflicted him and caused him to miss significant chunks of time over the last few seasons. The 22-year-old has 60-grade power and owns an elite 21.7 percent walk rate over the course of his minor league career, however, he's a .248 hitter with a 30.5 percent strikeout rate as well. If he can remain healthy and make some modest improvements on offense, there's still a chance the 5-foot-11 Dominican could still get the call to the big leagues later this year, although he's not a stash candidate at this time.--Jarod Rupp
