Dwayne Bacon 2019 Player Outlook
5 years agoCharlotte Hornets guard/forward Dwayne Bacon will start his third NBA season after a strong finish to 2018-19. He went from averaging barely 10 minutes per game to getting over 27 minutes a night after the All-Star break, and he did very well, sinking over 40 percent of his treys and averaging 11.4 points. Bacon even ended up starting some games, as the Hornets slowly started to prepare for the post-Kemba Walker era. The Hornets are expected to win only 32 games in 2019-20, so younger guys like Bacon will be looking to break out, to offer some hope for the future for the fans. Jeremy Lamb has left for Indiana, Nicolas Batum isn't getting any younger and Miles Bridges is expected to get more minutes at the power forward position, which gives Bacon a chance to eat up as many minutes as he can. However, whilst Bacon has already proven himself as a solid scorer, his work on defense needs improving and he didn't offer much else in fantasy basketball last season, getting only 2.8 rebounds and 1.7 assists during his extended run in the rotation over the final 18 games of the year.
