8 months agoTexas Rangers starting pitcher Drew Smyly put together a strong outing against the Oakland Athletics this week. Smyly pitched more than one innings for the first time since undergoing Tommy John surgery in July 2017, and allowed just one walk in two innings. It may not have been the Athletics strongest lineup but the signs were extremely promising for Smyly. The left-handed pitcher is a still some distance from being fantasy relevant, especially pitching in hitter friendly Texas. However, if he recaptures some of the form from earlier in his career he could be an interesting mid-season pick up, especially in deeper leagues.--Ben Rolfe - RotoBaller
