Dougie Hamilton Returns To Action Wednesday
New Jersey Devils defenseman Dougie Hamilton (lower body) will re-enter the lineup on Wednesday against the Detroit Red Wings. The talented blue-liner has made a quicker-than-expected recovery from a lower-body injury, as initial reports suggested that he may not even be ready for Round 1 of the playoffs. Hamilton last played on March 4. He has been a two-way force while in the lineup, recording 40 points (nine goals, 31 assists), 81 blocks, and 74 hits in 63 outings. With Luke Hughes (rest), Brett Pesce (rest), and Johnathan Kovacevic (rest) out of the lineup on Wednesday, Hamilton should see plenty of action to get rid of some rust ahead of the postseason.
