Dominic Smith Starts In Left And Homers
6 years agoNew York Mets first baseman Dominic Smith drew the start in left field on Thursday and homered in the Mets win over the Giants. He has only played outfield in four games this season but this shows the Mets trying their best to keep his hot bat in the lineup. Smith is now slashing a ridiculous .373/.468/.612 with four home runs in 67 at-bats. It's a small sample size to tell if this will last and if the Mets find enough playing time for him, but it's worth keeping an eye on. If the Mets show more interest in getting him in the lineup every day, he could be worth an add in deeper leagues. Especially if he gets additional positional eligibility.
