5 years agoColorado Rockies catcher prospect Dom Nunez hit a rocket out to right in Friday night action in Scottsdale, and there is no question that he can put a charge into a ball. He showed that during a brief stint in the majors last year when he knocked five extra-base hits in just 39 at-bats. Unfortunately, the power isn't the limiting factor. The contact is. Nunez hit just .179 during his cup of coffee, and he hasn't hit above .244 since Single-A. With Colorado expected to have light-hitting Tony Wolters working as their primary backstop, there's an opening for Nunez to earn some playing time, but he'll have to show that he can regularly make contact to get there.--Billy Stonick - RotoBaller
