Los Angeles Chargers safety Derwin James sustained a meniscus injury during practice Sunday, one which is likely to keep him sidelined for a prolonged period of time. Should James only need slight repairs to the ailment, he could be back in as little as four weeks, but if he needs a major surgery, he could miss as many as multiple months. Having been named the Defensive Rookie of the Year last season, James figured to anchor the back end of the Chargers’ defense in 2020 with Alohi Gilman being the top in-house option. A borderline DEF to own in season-long formats, the loss of James for at least the season opener against the Bengals might keep the unit as a whole on the wire for the time being.--Jesse BorekRead More News
