Derrius Guice 2019 Outlook: Ready to Make an Impact
6 years agoAs everyone is fully aware of, Derrius Guice missed the entire 2018 season due to a torn ACL in preseason play. Prior to the injury, there was much excitement about just how well he would perform in fantasy in his rookie season, which was demonstrated by his aggressive ADP in drafts. His ADP has softened as we enter the 2019 season, coming off the board as a fringe RB2. With Adrian Peterson still in the fold, coming off a 1,000 yard season, the early workload for Guice might be a bit of an issue. Ultimately, I expect the talent to win out in the end, and Guice to own a majority of the work in this backfield. He has the skillset to be an RB2 in any format, but if he becomes truly featured in this offense he will push for a finish as an RB1. He should be currently drafted in the fifth round, but once training camp and preseason begins, his ADP could rise another round.
