Derek Carr 2021 Outlook: Not Elite, But Always Reliable
3 years agoDerek Carr has not proven to be an elite fantasy QB in his numerous years in the NFL, but he has been very consistent with his numbers throughout his career which proves to be huge for his fantasy value. Carr is coming off a 2020 season in which he amassed 4,103 yards along with 27 touchdowns and nine picks. In the past three seasons, Carr's passing yard numbers have hit career-highs and 2020 was his career-high in terms of passing yards. In addition, the Raider tossed his highest passing touchdown total since 2016. Since 2015, the QB has only thrown fewer than 3,900 yards and 21 touchdowns once, which shows how consistent he can be. Carr should once again be considered a serviceable fantasy option in 2021 and he still does have decent options in the passing game, including John Brown, Hunter Renfrow, and of course, elite TE1 Darren Waller. The Raiders are not expected to be a powerhouse team but that doesn't mean Carr can't be decent in fantasy. Pencil him in as a QB2 heading into drafts.
