2 years agoSeattle Mariners outfielder Denard Span has been a positive addition to the team since being acquired from the Rays. He is hitting .292 with a .449 slugging percentage in the 89 at-bats with the Mariners, compared to a .238 average and .385 slugging percentage in 143 at-bats with the Rays. He is beginning to feel more comfortable hitting in the bottom third of Seattle's lineup and now has four multi-hit games in his last seven starts. Span is a veteran hitter with an excellent eye who knows how to work counts. But his age and lack of power limit his fantasy potential, and the team is adamant about continuing to give playing time to Ben Gamel. Span is a nice depth piece on a fantasy team, but expectations need to be tempered.--Joey C - RotoBaller
