Davis Thompson Looking To Bounce Back At The Copperhead Course
9 months agoDavis Thompson has been fighting a sick putter over his last two starts, which produced an average of -0.53 strokes gained putting. However, his success with the flat stick has been one of his biggest strengths since the beginning of the year, as he ranks 41st on the season for the same metric (0.309). But as most golfers know, the putter is often a love/hate relationship. The former Georgia Bulldog has also been lighting it up from the fairway, ranking 28th in strokes gained on approach (0.498). His Achilles heel comes from the fact that he has lost strokes off the tee in five of seven events on the year, but hopefully, a much less penal layout from tee to green at the Valspar will mean good things for Thompson, who sits at $9,300 on FanDuel.
