Los Angeles Kings goaltender David Rittich will start Friday's home game against the Dallas Stars. L.A.'s No. 1 option between the sticks, Darcy Kuemper, is expected to dress as the backup after welcoming a child into his family. Kuemper will likely return to work on Saturday when the Kings wrap up a back-to-back against the Anaheim Ducks. Following a great start to the season, Rittich's form has faded over the last couple of months. He has won only two outings since December, bringing his record to 11-11-0. The Czech netminder has a 2.62 goals-against average with a .889 save percentage. Rittich faces a tough matchup on Friday against one of the best teams in the league, but the Kings have dropped only four home games in 2024-25, boosting his chances of success.--Taavi Pailk
