David Moore 2020 Fantasy Outlook: May Have to Fight For A Roster Spot
5 years agoHeading into last season, David Moore was considered to be a potentially deep fantasy sleeper. In seven starts in 2018, the former practice squadder had five TD receptions and averaged 17.1 yards per catch. His blend of size and speed seemed to work well with Russell Wilson, who is well established as one of the best deep passers in the league. If rookie DK Metcalf struggled, there were expectations that Moore could step forward to play a more prominent role in the Seattle passing game. Moore missed the first two games of the 2019 because of a shoulder problem, and Metcalf quickly established himself ahead of Moore on the depth chart. Moore struggled when he returned and only caught 17 passes in 14 games. In 10 outings, he caught one ball or less. He became just an occasional downfield threat and was not relied on in key situations. Now as the team heads into 2020, Moore must prove himself to simply remain on the roster. The Seahawks brought in Phillip Dorsett to challenge for the third receiver spot, and second year man John Ursua and rookie Freddie Swain are going to push for playing time. Moore is mostly off the fantasy radar now with an ADP of 303 and is the 101st ranked WR by the RotoBaller staff. He should not be drafted in any leagues this season.
