David Dahl Keeps Hitting
6 years agoColorado Rockies outfielder David Dahl smacked three more hits on Wednesday including a double and a triple in the team's failed comeback bid against the Cubs, and he's now raised his batting average up to .337 for the season. That's been great for owners, but that's not even close to sustainable. While Dahl has cut his strikeout rate to a more reasonable 27%, his astronomical BABIP will be falling in time, and he'll return to his expected batting average range of .270-.280. The concern is that once his batting average normalizes, he may struggle to hit with much power. Dahl's exit velocity is below average and his hard hit rate is just league average. Owners would be wise to consider trade offers in hopes of selling high on Dahl now.
