Darwin Thompson 2019 Outlook: Slim Pickings In Kansas City
5 years agoKansas City rookie running back Darwin Thompson finds himself in an interesting situation in Arrowhead this year. After some impressive preseason performances Thompson's stock looked to be on the rise when Carlos Hyde was traded to the Houston Texans. However, the arrival of LeSean McCoy has tempered those expectations, as Thompson returns to competing for the third-string role with Darrell Williams. Right now it is hard to be too excited about Thompson, but he does still have a potential role in this offense. If either Damien Williams or McCoy go down during the season Thompson may get a chance for regular work in one of the most explosive offense in pro football. If you are drafting this week he is a late-round stash, and if you don't feel comfortable then he is someone to watch on the waiver wire. If you have already drafted there is a chance the person who took him gets frustrated if he struggles for game time and then he should be on your waiver wire sooner rather than later.
