3 years agoThe Toronto Blue Jays placed catcher Danny Jansen (hamstring) on the 10-day injured list on Friday and recalled catcher Alejandro Kirk from Triple-A Buffalo in a corresponding move. Manager Charlie Montoyo said that Jansen "pulled it pretty good," so it's a fair bet that he'll be out beyond the 10 days. In the meantime, Reese McGuire is likely to catch left-hander Hyun-Jin Ryu's starts. Otherwise, McGuire and Kirk will share playing time behind the dish. McGuire is hitting .269/.310/.361 with a homer and six RBI in his 119 at-bats in Toronto this year. Kirk recently returned from a long stint on the injured list, which is why he has just 40 at-bats on the year for the Blue Jays.
