D'Andre Swift Compares Self To Elite Running Back
4 years agoDetroit Lions running back D'Andre Swift will be given every opportunity to win the starting job when Week 1 begins Sept. 13. Swift scored 20 touchdowns and racked up 2,885 yards in 43 games at the University of Georgia. Now the rookie running back has his sights set on becoming one of the best running backs in the league and has even compared himself to Panthers star running back Christian McCaffrey. Swift told USA Today's Mackenzie Salmon, "Just because he (McCaffrey) does everything....catches the ball out of the backfield. They put him in space a lot, makes a lot of people miss. And I think that’s something I can do really well.” Swift is competing with Kerryon Johnson for carries in the Lions backfield, but it is Swift who will have the most upside heading into fantasy drafts.
