Could Ty Gibbs Be Worth Rostering For DFS Lineups At The Charlotte Roval?
2 months agoTy Gibbs of Joe Gibbs Racing will start the Bank of America ROVAL 400 at Charlotte Motor Speedway's Roval Course from the 19th position, his lowest start position to date in his Cup career at the site. In two previous starts at the Roval, Gibbs had one top-5 finish, which was a fourth-place result in last year's race. After 31 races so far this season, Gibbs has 22 top-20 finishes, with 12 inside the Top 10. At road and street courses this year, Gibbs has two top-5 finishes and two finishes outside of the Top 20. In first practice, Gibbs ranked 15th in five consecutive lap averages and eighth in 10 consecutive lap averages, while in final practice, Gibbs ranked 23rd in five consecutive lap averages. Although Gibbs displayed mixed speeds in practice and mixed results at both road courses and at the Roval in the past, the No. 54 Toyota driver is still usable in most formats as he has favorable upside and equipment capable of placing in the Top 15.
