Cooper Criswell To Make Major League Debut Friday
Los Angeles Angels starting pitcher Cooper Criswell will make his major league debut on Friday night as he gets the start against the Padres. A 13th round pick in the 2018 Draft, Criswell has split time between Double-A and Triple-A this season, where he has gone 8-5 with a 3.77 ERA, 1.103 WHIP and 29.9 percent strikeout rate over 90 2/3 innings of work. The Padres have been slumping at the plate recently, slashing .182/.267/.323 with a 21.7 percent strikeout rate over their last 14 games, while averaging 3.0 runs per game in that span. This could be a nice matchup for Criswell, and managers may want to consider utilizing him as a streamer or DFS option.
