Commanders Defense has Top-10 Potential in Week 14 Against Vikings
The Washington Commanders' defense has been ravaged by injury this season, losing their top three edge rushers and two starting cornerbacks. They've gotten healthier recently with the return of safety Will Harris, but they still profile as one of the worst defenses in the league. However, Washington is in a great spot to perform well against the J.J. McCarthy-led Vikings in Week 14. McCarthy has been a turnover machine this season, committing turnovers in each one of his starts and throwing multiple interceptions in four of his six starts. The second-year quarterback also owns the second-highest sack rate in the league at 11.17%. Washington has struggled to generate consistent pressure and could have trouble defending the run, but they've performed better in the past two games with head coach Dan Quinn taking over the play-calling duties. Quinn has opted to play a heavy amount of zone coverage with a bend-but-don't-break style of defense, which still concedes plenty of yards, but tightens up in the red zone. With how inept the Vikings offense has looked lately, Washington projects as a potential top-10 fantasy defense in Week 14.
