Colts to Wait Until End of the Week to Name Starting Quarterback
The Indianapolis Colts plan to wait until the end of the week before deciding on a starting quarterback ahead of the Week 15 matchup versus the Seattle Seahawks. Right now, newly signed Philip Rivers and rookie Riley Leonard (knee) are competing for the starting gig. It's worth noting that Rivers hasn't played in a football game since January of 2021. The 44-year-old came out of retirement to help bolster an Indy quarterback room that has been devastated by injuries. Leonard suffered a knee sprain last week after coming in for Daniel Jones (Achilles), who suffered a season-ending injury during the loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars. At the moment, Brett Rypien is the other QB option on the roster. The Colts want to see a full week of practice from all their quarterbacks before making a final decision. Whoever is starting in Seattle for the Colts this weekend will be a desperation fantasy play in two-QB formats.
