1 year agoBaltimore Orioles rookie outfielder Colton Cowser is not in the team's starting lineup to start the second half of the season on Friday against the visiting Miami Marlins. Aaron Hicks is starting in right field for the O's and will hit seventh against Marlins right-hander Sandy Alcantara. After starting four games in a row after his promotion from the minor leagues, Cowser will start on the bench for the second game in a row. The 23-year-old has struggled at the plate in the early going, picking up three hits in his first 16 MLB at-bats, although he does have four walks against just two strikeouts. Cowser is the club's No. 2 prospect, per MLB Pipeline, has the potential to become a dangerous all-around hitter in time with excellent bat speed and plate discipline.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
