1 month agoChicago Cubs starting pitcher Cole Hamels (oblique) threw from 120 feet on Monday. Hamels will need to throw a bullpen next before going out on a rehab assignment. The veteran left-hander has been out since June 28 but has been fantastic this year with Chicago, posting a 2.98 ERA, 1.20 WHIP and 97 strikeouts in 99 2/3 frames over his 17 starts. Keep him stashed everywhere and hope that the 35-year-old can pick right up where he left off when he comes off the injured list, most likely early in August.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
