Christian Yelich 2023 MLB Player Outlook: Bouncing Back Is Key
2 years agoMilwaukee Brewers outfielder Christian Yelich has not been himself since his two seasons of MVP ball in 2018 and '19. He has completely fallen off the map, and the Brewers are looking for a technique to reinvigorate Yeli's success. The 31-year-old mustered a .738 OPS in 2022 while smacking 14 HRs. He hit .252, and Yelich is improving his average by the year since hitting .205 in 2020. Yelich has always been a high strikeout hitter, and his 24.1% strikeout rate isn't the cause of his mishaps. His ISO numbers, however, have regressed exponentially since his MVP days. Yeli amassed a .130 ISO this past year, and we haven't seen much power from him in a while. Let's hope the California native can exceed ATC's projected .249/.343/.402 slash line with 17 homer runs and 15 stolen bases because we've all been waiting for the Yeli return. Most importantly, he's given a 125.32 ADP which is a good approximation considering his recent numbers.
