Christian Rodriguez (11-2) suffered a first-round submission loss to Julian Erosa at UFC Denver on Saturday. Rodriguez entered the fight on a four-game winning streak and was a sizeable favorite. Rodriguez had success early on as he landed a big kick that somehow didn't KO Erosa. However, Rodriguez was taken down, and then with 11 seconds left, he tapped to a guillotine choke to lose in the first round. It was a tough loss for Rodriguez who was considered a top prospect at featherweight. Rodriguez is now 4-2 in the UFC and will need a step down in competition next time out.--Cole Shelton
