3 months agoSan Francisco 49ers running back Christian McCaffrey had a classic CMC performance in the team's Week 1 win at the Pittsburgh Steelers. McCaffrey rushed for 152 yards on 22 carries, including a 65-yard touchdown run, and chipped in three receptions on five targets for 17 yards. In Week 2, he'll travel to Los Angeles to face Aaron Donald and the Rams in Los Angeles. Despite the presence of Donald, Los Angeles' defense has much to prove as a unit and sets up McCaffrey for another productive day. While McCaffrey will remain one of the NFL's few true bell cows, the 49ers may wisely give backup running back Elijah Mitchell more of the work going forward, as giving McCaffrey 25 touches every week is asking for trouble. Regardless, any slight reduction in usage won't keep McCaffrey from being a high-end RB1 in a smash spot on Sunday.--Brad Beltz - RotoBaller
