Chris Conley 2022 NFL Player Outlook: Next Man Up In Houston?
2 years agoWide Receiver Chris Conley re-signed with the Houston Texans this offseason on a one-year deal. With second-round rookie wide receiver John Metchie III announcing he would miss the upcoming season due to a bout with leukemia, the pass-catching corps in Houston just got thinner. While Brandin Cooks has established himself as the clear alpha in the Texans offense, the number two spot appears to be up for grabs between sophomore Nico Collins and Conley. We know the negative game scripts will likely be there for passing volume in Houston, as the Vegas sportsbooks only have the Texans for over/under of 4.5 wins in 2022. If Davis Mills can take some steps forward as a passer, the Texans' offense could become a more appetizing entree in fantasyland. Conley's best season came in 2019 with Gardner Minshew in Jacksonville. Conley had 47 receptions for 775 yards and 5 TDs, which was good for 16.4 YPC. Conley's current ADP is 216. While he doesn't have much value for fantasy now, he is a player worth keeping tabs on to see how the wide receiver room in Houston shakes out, as the volume could be there by default.
