Chris Bassitt Dealing With Sinus Issue
Chris Bassitt (illness) is dealing with a cold/sinus issue, according to Mets manager Buck Showalter. The skipper seems confident that Bassitt will be good to make his next start on Sunday, but if he's unable to go, then David Peterson would be on the mound instead. After a strong start to the year, Bassitt has been hit hard over his last two outings. Most recently, facing the San Francisco Giants on Tuesday, he gave up eight earned runs over 4 1/3 innings. The 33-year-old has a 3.91 ERA and a 1/21 WHIP on the year.
