Pittsburgh Pirates starting pitcher Chris Archer was less than great in Friday's start against the St. Louis Cardinals. Archer went 4 1/3 innings and gave up four earned runs on seven hits. He walked four batters and struck out six. Archer pitched around potential disaster all night, including having a lead off baserunner in all five innings he pitched. He is 3-4 with a 4.49 ERA in 18 starts. Archer will be a one-start pitcher the week of Aug. 6 with a day game at Coors Field in Denver on Wednesday.
