Chase Elliott crashed out of the Darlington race with 40 laps to go. That has left him some work as he tries to qualify for the round of 12. The Hendricks Motorsports Racing driver did finish fifth in last year's summer race and looked better speed and downforce-wise compared to the Spring race. Three years ago, the No. 9 car led 34 laps en route to a fourth-place result. Again, Elliott is the type of racer that needs to be near the front late in the race. Otherwise, bad things tend to happen. It will be a challenge for Elliott to finish in the top three but the top five is plausible. --Chris Wassel - RotoBaller
