Chase Elliott Is Highly Recommended For Watkins Glen Lineups
3 months agoChase Elliott will start Sunday's Go Bowling at the Glen at Watkins Glen International from the 14th position. This will be the fourth time in Elliott's Cup career and the second time since 2022 that he will start a race at Watkins Glen outside of the Top 10. In seven races at the Glen, Elliott has two wins, four top-5 finishes, and 170 laps led (second-most of active drivers). Elliott's top-5 finishes were gained during his last five Cup appearances at the site. With 27 races finished this season, Elliott has one win, 13 top-10 finishes, and an average finish of 11.5, ranking second of all drivers. In road courses this year, Elliott has only one top-10 finish: Sonoma, where he placed fourth after starting in that position. In practice for WGI, Elliott ranked third in overall lap averages and 13th in both single-lap and five-consecutive lap averages. Considering Elliott's excellent history at WGI and his upside, the No. 9 Chevrolet driver is an easy recommendation for any DFS format, as he has a high chance of placing in the Top 10.
