Chase Edmonds 2023 Outlook: Buccaneers Top Handcuff RB?
2 years agoTampa Bay Buccaneers running back Chase Edmonds joined the team this offseason after a disastrous 2022 campaign. In eight games with the Miami Dolphins, he rushed 42 times for 120 yards and two touchdowns, adding 10 receptions for 96 yards and a touchdown through the air. He was let go by the team and signed with Denver, where he totaled 186 yards and 32 touches and never reached the end zone. He had RB2 expectations heading into the season after flashing upside during his four-year career with the Arizona Cardinals but ultimately failed to live up to the hype. Now, he's set up to be the No. 2 running back behind Rachaad White. It's unclear what his role will be in the Baker Mayfield or Kyle Trask offense, but any second-string running back will have value in deep formats. If something happens to White, Edmonds could have plenty of PPR intrigue. Either Bucs quarterback will likely check it down often behind a bad offensive line and Edmonds has shown the ability to operate as a receiver from the RB spot. That said, the team could still add a veteran running back to its roster this offseason. If that happens, Edmonds will be off the fantasy football radar in even the deepest of leagues.
