Cedric Mullins Leaves Game Early With Left Quad Tightness
4 months agoBaltimore Orioles outfielder Cedric Mullins (quadriceps) exited Friday night's game against the Houston Astros early with left-quad tightness, according to the team. Mullins was replaced in the top of the fifth inning by Austin Slater after going 0-1 with a walk. The team has not said much else on his status and Mullins should be considered day-to-day until further notice. The lefty had been heating up over the last two weeks, hitting for a .960 OPS in his last 35 PA. Though mainly in a platoon role, his bat has been important for the Orioles as they attempt to keep pace with the New York Yankees in the AL East race. If Mullins is forced to miss time, expect Ryan O'Hearn to pick up more time in the outfield against righties. O'Hearn should make for a solid platoon matchup against righties for fantasy managers, hitting for a 127 OPS+ in 2024.
