Casey Mize Tagged With Loss Despite Quality Start
4 years agoDetroit Tigers starting pitcher Casey Mize had a strong outing against the Chicago White Sox on Thursday. Unfortunately, he was out-dueled by Chicago's starter, Lance Lynn, and wound up with his fourth loss of the year. Mize pitched seven innings and allowed five hits, no walks and three earned runs while striking out six. The three runs all came on solo home runs. Mize was fantastic in May, posting a 1.74 ERA over five starts, four of which went for quality starts. He only allowed two total home runs over the month. The Tigers are likely going to start limiting his workload soon, but for now, he needs to be rostered in all fantasy leagues. He'll make his next start on Wednesday against the Seattle Mariners.
