The Vancouver Canucks added to their goaltender depth on Tuesday, picking up Casey DeSmith via a trade from the Montreal Canadiens. In exchange, the Canucks departed with winger Tanner Pearson and a third-round draft pick. DeSmith joined the Canadiens less than two months ago when the Pittsburgh Penguins traded him away. The 32-year-old has featured in 134 games in the NHL -- all with the Penguins -- and boasts a 58-44-15 record with a 2.81 goals-against average, a .912 save percentage, and nine shutouts. He's been a solid backup throughout his career and will give Canucks an extra option behind their No. 1 Thatcher Demko.--Taavi Pailk
