Minnesota Twins shortstop Carlos Correa (heel) has been diagnosed with plantar fasciitis, according to Dan Hayes of The Athletic. Correa was a late scratch from Saturday's lineup and underwent an MRI shortly after. The 29-year-old had a similar injury in his opposite foot last season. Hayes also reported that this case is said to be not as severe as last time. Correa spent time on the injured list for this injury last season and could do the same again. The former first-overall selection has enjoyed a nice bounce-back season in 2024 with a strong .308/.377/.520 line and 13 home runs. If Correa were to miss an extended period of time, Brooks Lee and Willi Castro are strong candidates to fill in at shortstop.--Andy Smith
