The Seattle Kraken selected forward Calle Jarnkrok from the Nashville Predators during the 2021 NHL Expansion Draft on Wednesday. The versatile forward was chosen over the likes of Ryan Johansen, 28, and Matt Duchene, 30. Those two veteran players have shown scoring touches in the past but are both signed to lengthy contracts with $8 million AAVs. Jarnkrok, meanwhile, is 29 and signed for just one more season at $2 million. He will then become an unrestricted free agent. Last season, the native of Sweden scored 13 goals and recorded 28 points in 49 games. He can play all three forward positions and could see time on the first line for Seattle — especially with Yanni Gourde sidelined for up to two months of the regular season due to shoulder surgery. Jarnkrok could be a fantasy sleeper. --Marc Hulet - RotoBaller
